Imola, San Marino 2005 
Practice
At the start of practice there were only the three cars of Williams, Renault and BAR. The rest of the teams were boycotting the race due to them not liking the choice of biscuits being supplied by the circuit owners. At the last minute the dastardly Jordan team betrayed their fellow rebels and rolled up to take part in practice. This meant that this event would be official rather than a non championship event if less than 50% of the teams show up.
Bear set the pace with Jools struggling to find his pre practice pace. tc and Jim fighting over third fastest and nothing to choose between them.

Qualifying
Jim out first and within a few tenths of his practice time as usual. tc next and onto provisional pole with a 1:26.938. Jools going for his third pole of the season and almost a second faster than his practice pace. A time that shocked Bear so much he made a mistake at the start of his lap and into second on the grid he slotted.

Race
Lap 1 Great start from Jools and Bear, but a better start from tc who outdrags Bear and passes him into Tamburello. Jim passes Bear also in Tamburello. Bear follows Jim and tc with Jools in the lead. Bear attempts to pass Jim around the outside of Rivazza but he ends up on the grass. tc meanwhile has gone wide and Jim passes him for second.
Lap 2 So end of lap 1, Jools leads by 3 seconds from Jim, tc and Bear. tc wide at Tosa and Bear comes alongside him down the straight passing him into Piratella.
Lap 3 Jools still leads Jim by 3 seconds with Bear and tc third and fourth. tc gets revenge at Piratella and takes back third but no he's spun and Bear goes back past!
Lap 4 Jools has stretched his lead over Jim to 8 seconds with Bear 3 seconds behind Jim and tc in fourth getting to grips with his car. Mistake from Jim at Acque Minerale, Bear goes alongside and passes him!
Lap 5 Jim now third is not being dropped by Bear. Jools is clear at the front and tc struggling to stay with Bear and Jim. Jim hits Bear in Tamburello but they both continue unaffected.
Lap 6 Jools starts lap 6 about 10 seconds clear of Bear and Jim.
Lap 7 Jools lead is now 12 seconds over Bear. Jim 2 seconds behind. Jools has hit the wall at Variante Alta but continues.
Lap 8 Jools lead is down to 9 seconds over Bear, Jim has reduced the gap between him and Bear to only a second.
Lap 9 Jools extends his lead back to 12 seconds. Jim is less than a second behind Bear. Bear has a big moment at Acque Minerale and Jim makes his move as they come upto the Variante Alta Jim into second! Renault and Jordan crews are in the pits ready for their drivers next lap.
Lap 10 Jools now has a 15 second lead. Jim spins at Acque Minerale and Bear narrowly avoids him to move back into second! Jools dives into the pits. He's stationary about 8 seconds. Jim stops from third and rejoins third.
Lap 11 Jools is exiting the pits as Bear is coming down the start finish straight. Only two seconds between the great rivals. Jim is third and tc fourth. Williams are ready in the pits
Lap 12 Jools lead remains two seconds as he crosses the line. tc as expected, pits for fuel and tyres
Lap 13 Jools lead now upto 3 seconds over Bear.
Lap 14 Nothing to choose between Jools and Bear.
Lap 15 Bear pegs the lead at 3 seconds. The leaders lap tc at Tamburello.
Lap 16 A scrappy last lap from Bear and Jools' cushion is now 5 seconds.
Lap 17 More mistakes from Bear whose tyres must be causing him some trouble and as they start lap 17 Jools is now 10 seconds clear.
Lap 18 Across the line the gap is down as Bear posts the fastest lap of the race by a tenth of a second over the previous fastest lap held by Jools. But with the gap around 8.5 seconds it's going to have to be a mistake from Jools to change the positions. Jools takes the last lap easy and crosses the line just under 4 seconds ahead of Bear. Jim another 30 seconds down the road and tc 1 lap down finishs fourth.
